Sunshine State Young Readers Award

State Reading Programs

The Sunshine State Young Readers Award (SSYRA) was created over 15 years ago by the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) to encourage students in grades 3-5 to read. Due to the popularity of the program, FAME announced a similar program for grades K-2 called SSYRA Jr. Each year, 15 itles are selected by a committee of FAME media specialists from books published in the previous two to three years.
