National Elementary Honor Society Scoring Rubric
A score of 85 points out of a possible 100 points on the candidate form is required for
admittance.
- Scholarship: Earn a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 87.5%(B+) or higher; (45 points)
- As determined by 2023-2024 report cards 1 – 3, and/or 2023-2024 2nd and 3rd quarter report cards if new to Shenandoah Elementary.
- Responsibility Demonstrated Through Character (40 points)
- Character & Citizenship; Students who demonstrate accountability, consistency in fulfilling commitments, and managing and completing tasks and assignments in a timely manner.
- Leadership & Service (15 points)
- Students who display leadership qualities, take initiative, positively influence peers, and take on various leadership roles in school related activities or community organizations (sports, clubs, etc.).
- Students who demonstrate examples of voluntary contributions made to the school and/or community
- Application:
- A completed application that is neat, clear, and comprehensive. The required components in addition to the above include:
- Student and parent signature
- 2 References from teachers, advisors, or coaches
